Late last night Ultra’s attendees couldn’t help but feel abandoned by the festival. Traffic was at a standstill, taking 2-3 hours for fans to get across the bridge and back to their hotels & air bnbs.

Fans waiting for their shuttles at their corresponding shuttle pick up station found out that after hours of waiting, there was only one pick up station that was running shuttles. That one station quickly became over run with people. The longer the time went on and the longer the line became, the more disorganized and chaotic the situation became. Whenever a shuttle did show up it became a free for all with people trying to climb in.

Couple this with a fire that broke out at a palm tree from fireworks that went off during Marshmello’s closing set and the scene was pure insanity. Tens of thousands of people were left stranded with no cabs coming as well as lyft and uber apps not working do to the overload of people. This forced the horde of people to walk 3 miles across the bridge to get back to the mainland to try and find a ride home. Some festival attendees were unable to leave until 4am, 2 hours after the festival concluded for the day.

“Changes to the transportation plan are being implemented today,” Miami Commissioner Ken Russell said in a statement. “I’m hopeful that plan will be much improved and the City will not have more of a disruption than experienced yesterday and early this morning.”

Ultra has just released a statement on the situation saying the transportation conditions would improve tonight and that they look forward to regaining the people’s trust.

With numerous people saying they were not going to the second night, we will have to wait and see what happens.
