Tkay Maidza has shared a new song, “Silent Assassin.” Flume produced the track, and it comes with a music video directed and edited by Milo Lee. Watch below.

“Silent Assassin” follows November 2022’s “Nights in December” and the more recent Snakehips collaboration “Show Me the Money.” The Zimbabwean artist, who’s now based in Los Angeles, released her most recent EP, Last Year Was Weird, Vol. 3, in July 2021.

“I like to move in silence, but this song is a reminder that people shouldn’t count me out or underestimate my abilities; they should be afraid when I’m quiet as I come back more evolved,” Tkay Maidza said of “Silent Assassin” in a statement. “I’ve always wanted to work with Flume and was immediately ecstatic when he played the instrumental for this; I wanted to channel Busta Rhymes and Missy Elliott.”

After supporting Billie Eilish and Dua Lipa on tour in 2022, Tkay Maidza will open for Lizzo later this month on a series of dates in Australia and New Zealand.
