Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava performed the song “Naatu Naatu” from RRR tonight at the 95th Academy Awards. The two sang the track live while more than two dozen actors replicated the dance segment from the film in period outfits. The song by Sipligunj, Bhairava, and M.M. Keeravani was nominated and won Best Original Song. Watch it happen below.
“Naatu Naatu” won the Golden Globe for Best Original Song earlier this year. The song is nominated tonight at the Oscars alongside Rihanna’s “Lift Me Up” (Black Panther: Wakanda Forever); Son Lux, Mitski, and David Byrne’s “This Is a Life” (Everything Everywhere All at Once); Diane Warren’s “Applause”; and Lady Gaga for “Hold My Hand” (Top Gun: Maverick).
