Skrillex is weighing in on the whole R. Kelly ordeal. Not because he’s invested in the situation, of course, but because TMZ hit him up to get his thoughts.

A quick rundown of what’s happening — R. Kelly has parted ways with Sony Music and RCA Records in what’s being called a “mutual agreement.” He has been dropped from the label. His releases will be shelved indefinitely. Really, it’s almost like his music will cease to exist.

This comes in the wake of the Surviving R. Kelly documentary, which shares real-life accounts of his alleged sexual, mental, and physical abuse against young women. The disgraced artist has gone years without these claims affecting him, but with the introduction of the new docu-series, that seems to be changing.

Back to Skrillex — he doesn’t necessarily think wiping all the R. Kelly music off the planet will be that easy. Hip hop legend Jay-Z is refusing to take down his compilation release with R. Kelly, and Skrillex believes he has a right.

Although Skrillex doesn’t get down to R. Kelly anymore, he says he still hears his songs played in the club.
