Larry Shay, Mark Fisher and Joe Goodwin wrote “When You’re the Smiling.” It’s been performed by Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, Dr. John, Doris Day, Duke Ellington, Fats Domino, Frank Sinatra, and many others.
A Small Light follows the story of Miep Gies, the Amsterdam woman who helped keep Anne Frank and her family in safety, during World War II. Moses Sumney, Danielle Haim, Orville Peck, Sharon Van Etten, Angel Olsen, and more all appear on the show’s soundtrack, which is out in full on May 23.
