Drum and bass label ProgRAM is home to some considerable talent, and AJ Mutated has just added himself to the list. Part of the established Mutated Forms, AJ has branched out to create some of his own work and this week releases two new sounds.
One of which we have the premiere of, and ‘Bleak’ is ready to let rip on any dance floor. From a darkly atmospheric intro comes a dynamic roll of resounding beats, choppy riffs and ominous vocals. The artist explains its theme, saying: “The name and mood came from a friend showing me the 2003 UK series Monkey Dust (which was BLEAK AS HELL), and I somehow ended up making a synth – naturally it progressed into this.”‘
