I love hearing influences from other cultures and sounds in dance music — probably because I’m American, the music I’m exposed to on the radio generally has a certain “American” sound to it. That’s why projects like Baauer’s Aa or Swindle’s Peace, Love & Music speak so profoundly to me, because they’re exposing me to new sounds and styles.

One of my favorite influences are those of Asia, with lots of rhythmic chants and unique string instruments. Jinco and Oriental Cravings have teamed up for just such a combination on their new tune, “Dojo.” After putting bass music into the mix too, it gets that much more anthemic and stimulating. It’s a style I hope to hear more of from more people in the future, but for now, this is definitely helping my fix.

Check out “Dojo” below, out now!
