Released today through Four Music is ‘Starting Fires,’ a soulful number from producer Stavros and the brilliant Alec Chambers. The latter dazzled with ‘Closure’ and has been collaborating with writers like Sarah Nagourney and Will Simms.
We have the premiere of this joint venture. There is an uncut feel to it, but melodic focus is guaranteed, thanks to its surging use of both piano and drums. Its vocals are a thoughtful reflection on love and relationships, with Chambers saying: “Starting Fires’ is a fresh approach to a ‘love the gone wrong’ song. He can’t forget her and wants to make a dramatic attempt to get his girl’s attention.”
