Steve Aoki released his long-awaited Neon Future III album earlier this year, including his massive collaboration with KPop phenoms BTS, “Waste It On Me.” Starting last week with Slushii, remixes for the track began to drop. Today, Your EDM has the premiere of the new remix from Cheat Codes.
Where the original is actually quite slow, Cheat Codes pumps up the energy and turns it into a true upbeat dance tune. Keeping the anthemic horns intact was a smart move – and not just because I absolutely love horns. The brass gives another level of depth to the mix that isn’t present with just the vocals and bass notes.
Aside from the bump in energy, the remix really keeps the core of the original intact and switches it up just enough to give it some different flavor.
